Starting year in reviews again
It’s coming to the end of 2023 and I’m planning to write a year in review again.
Full List of Epic Plugins and Themes 2021
This is an update to the full list of plugins and themes from 2013 and 2015. It’s been a while since I updated this but I thought it would make sense now the plugins and themes aren’t listed for sale.
It’s a bit longer than other posts (when it was just a list) as it covers the current position, and what would be good to add to the plugins and themes in future.
1. Social Gallery Plugin (s)
This covers the following plugin suite. It was first developed in 2012 as a side product to an ebook website, and I acquired it in 2013 from the developer.
- Social Gallery Photo Viewer
- Social Gallery Video Viewer
- Social Gallery Analytics
- Social Gallery Shortcodes
The suite of plugins have always performed well, led by the photo viewer, with upsells for commonly requested features.
2. Social Buzz Plugin
This added a “Buzz” graph showing how popular a post was (how quick it was getting shared on the web)
3. “Mash” Plugins
These were the first plugins I personally developed. Pics Mash, Sound Mash, Video Mash and were neat little functionality to add to your site. Driven by the need to rank eBook covers – they gave you the ability to have your visitors click “left” or “right” and eventually (thanks to Elo’s algorithm) the top ranked image would come out top. This had great applications wider than book covers.
Which football team badge was best? Which movie poster. Which image from my recent vacation.
- Pics Mash Plugin
- Sound Mash Plugin (ranks Soundcloud tracks)
- Video Mash Plugin (Youtube videos, etc)
